Authority In The Name Of Jesus

Stand on these promises that have freely been given to those of us that are securely in His name.

  1. We Have Been Given the Legal Right to Use His Name

Matt 28:18-19 And Jesus came and spoke to them,  saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven  and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the  nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and  of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Phil 2:9-10 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him  and given Him the name which is above every  name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,  of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.

The name of Jesus is far above every other name,  Jesus has given the Church His name and all the power  and authority it carries

God always responds to the name of His son spoken  in faith, you have a right to use the name of Jesus, and  you’re now part of the family.

When we exercise faith in His name all of heaven  backs up the power of that name.

Mk 16:17-19 And these signs will follow those who  believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will  speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and  if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt  them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

  1. Every Believer Must Develop a Revelation in the Name of Jesus and its Power to Set Men Free

Acts 3:1-10 Now Peter and John went up together to  the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a  certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried,  whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is  called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered  the temple; who, seeing Peter and John about to go into  the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him,  with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” So he gave them his  attention, expecting to receive something from them.  Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what  I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the  right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet  and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up,  stood and walked and entered the temple with them walking, leaping, and praising God. And all the people  saw him walking and praising God. Then they knew that  it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of  the temple; and they were filled with wonder and  amazement at what had happened to him.

Acts 3:16 And His name, through faith in His name, has  made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes,  the faith which comes through Him has given him this  perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

Jesus gave the entire church the authority to use His name

Eph 3:15 whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named

Jn 3:23 this is His commandment: that we should  believe on the name of His Son

The name of Jesus releases the power of God to meet ever persons need and set the captive free

Lk 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He  has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He  has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim  liberty to the captives And recovery of sight  to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

  1. Understanding How to Use the Name of Jesus.

Jn 16:23 “And on that day you will ask Me nothing. Most  assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in  My name He will give you.

Ask – We ask our petitions in Jesus’ name and the Father answers.

Jn 14:12-14 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who  believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and  greater works than these he will do, because I go to My  Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will  do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you  ask anything in My name, I will do it.

Ask – When dealing with demons, bondage and  sickness we are to command, demand as our right in the name of Jesus.

Mk 4:39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said  to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and  there was a great calm.
